From not yet 1 month to 1 year . . .

I’ve had the privilege to photograph Miss “K” lots of times this past year. I got to watch mom and dad snuggle her while I photographed them just a few short weeks after she was born. Now she’s toddling around, flashing her beautiful smile and pointing at all the interesting things she can find.
We had a “trash the cake” session in honor of her first birthday. I so enjoyed watching her dive in and then squish the frosting through her fingers. I’m sure glad we got some “pre-cake” shots before she dug in!

So glad her pal Max got in on the photo action!

It’s clearly evident how much she loves him. You don’t share cake frosting with just anyone!

a lil’ Valentine cutie

I wanted to post a couple photos of the cutest little Valentine I got to to meet a couple weeks ago. Such a beauty! I was so happy that she gave me great eye contact with those pretty blue eyes.

One special thing to note about this session, back in the fall of 2006 I photographed the little valentine’s parents wedding day! I’m so honored that they called me back to see the new joy in their life.

What a way to start off the New Year

New Year, new clean slate, and a new calendar! As we near the end of January I’m sure you all have picked one up and have it hanging in a prominent place. I wanted to share with you two custom calendars I created for two of my favorite customers. (M and L, I’m glad you’re as thrilled with them as I am!

Each easel frame can be viewed horizontally or vertically. There are twelve 5 x 7 photos that can be changed with each new month. The calendar is printed directly on the photo and after each month is through, the calendar part can be cut off and you still can decide what to do with the photo.

I really enjoyed putting these together. I got to go through the their various photoshoots from 2007 and literally watch their little girls grow up. What a difference a year makes and how incredibly fast it goes. I’m not a mama myself yet but I know it will go even faster when it’s my own kids!

6 months already!

This beautiful little girl was born back when it was icy and cold in January. Now it’s hot and humid and just like the weather’s changed she has too!
What a difference between these two family photos. One thing has remained the same . . . the love her parents have for her.

This last shot is a little different for me. I’ve had a wide angle lens for a couple months now and really only used it on landscapes or interior real estate shots. Well, I finally used it for another purpose! After we were done with the session Mom and Dad were getting baby “K” ready for her nap. As I stood in the doorway I just had to capture the entire moment. The beautiful nursery with the sun shining in, two parents lovin’ on their little one, and “Max” laying on the floor waiting for his turn to get some attention. This photo, in my opinion, is the definition of family!

Growing up

Take a look at these gorgeous little girls in matching pink dresses. Nope, they’re not sisters. Close though . . . These are photos of my two best friends and their daughters. All three of my good friends from high school each had a baby girl this past year. Hopefully someday I can join them! ha ha

We did a photoshoot in June when L was in town and had so much fun watching the two young ones interact. With nothing but a vintage quilt and the green grass as our background it was a very casual, comfortable time.

And these last couple of photos just melt my heart. We thought we were all done but when baby snuggled into mommy I couldn’t resist. They were playing and then she just laid down on mommy’s cheek and stuck her thumb in her mouth. Priceless!
