Engaged: Rachel & Jake

Rachel & Jake, I gratefully call them my friends. I hugged Rachel upon meeting her the first time. She is such a sweetheart. During their engagement session we laughed a lot despite the extreme July heat. They’re just “good people” and I’m thrilled I get to document their wedding next spring.

Omaha engagement sessionOmaha outdoor engagement photographyAt one point in our time together I asked them what they loved most about each other. Yes, it may sound slightly cheesy but this is something that needs to be heard and communicated among couples. They happily and confidently told each other the answer to my question. It was very heartfelt and I instantly knew how strong their connection was.

Engaged: Ali & Scottie

I met Ali and Scottie and their darling dog Riley for our session downtown earlier this summer. I apologize to them all (especially Riley) for taking so long to blog these images. If I could clone myself or add extra hours in the day I would have a blog that was updated more often! And for everyone else waiting for their blog post, it is coming shortly. It has just been a busy summer wedding season and for that I am grateful!

But back to this adorable couple . . . Ali and Scottie aka “Scottie Toohottie” if you happen to be friends with him on Facebook. They are such a loving, affectionate and fun loving couple. We laughed out loud several times during their session as we explored the streets of downtown looking for nice light. If their wedding day is one quarter of the fun we had during their engagement session their guests are in for a treat!

dressed up engagementThanks for sharing a fun evening with me Ali and Scottie! Your great sense of style added so much to this session. Love the outfits! The one thing that never goes out of style though is the happiness shining through the smiles on your faces.

Looking forward to seeing you again and laughing out loud together in June 2012!

Engaged: Amy & Joey

These two are made for each other! They compliment one another perfectly with their sly smiles and warm giggles all while finishing each other’s sentences. They have an inspiring story together that was recently capped off with one of the most memorable proposal stories I’ve ever seen.

Please click here to experience it.

It’s incredible to see love like this displayed. Joey and his friends had it all mapped out down to when and where Amy would view the video while at school. When I asked them to tell me more about their relationship their eyes just lit up! You don’t see a love like theirs everyday and that’s why I am so happy to be working with them.

Engaged: Allison & Paul

Can’t believe Allison and Paul’s wedding is tomorrow! I just couldn’t go on without sharing the images from their sunset evening engagement shoot. We incorporated many places that are special to this couple including the University of Nebraska Lincoln campus, beautiful Woodcliff lakes, and the fountain where Paul asked Allison to marry him. I enjoyed hearing their stories as we walked the campus together and again seeing the activities they share at the lake which included my favorite, four-wheeling on the ATV. We drove out to the sandbar as the sun was setting and captured our last few shots together. Their happiness together quiet and calm, a perfect ending to the night. Allison and Paul’s shoot was unique and special to them which is what I always strive for in engagement sessions.

I’m looking forward to many more unique little touches they’ll include in their wedding day tomorrow including a vintage ’56 Pontiac Star Chief.

Engaged: Hayley & Andrew

Hayley and Andrew . . . their personalities are amazing. I’ve known Hayley as a friend of a friend but am so glad I get to work with her more closely now. The first time we met to discuss her wedding she gave me a big hug and that proved we’d be sure to get along well. She is vivacious, funny and beautiful all at the same time. And Andrew compliments her so well with his slightly quiet, protective nature.

I knew their engagement session would be a good time spent laughing and I wasn’t wrong. We had some evil mosquitoes to contend with but with some bug spray we handled it. Hayley even emailed me after the fact to say thank you and to say “I have to tell you what Andrew said when we left… that was so cool, I can’t wait to see them. This wasn’t anything like church! hahaha I had to laugh about that. What a good sport even with the mosquitoes”.

Our evening outdoor session gave us some great images and I’m happy that Hayley and Andrew chose to incorporate them into a guest sign-in book for their wedding day. Designing it was a good time and I know they’ll love it when they receive it this week.

June will be here before we know it and I hope that we have a beautiful day with weather like this one minus the annoying insects. Take care Hayley and Andrew! Thank you for being so wonderful and fun to work with.
