Rachel & Jake, I gratefully call them my friends. I hugged Rachel upon meeting her the first time. She is such a sweetheart. During their engagement session we laughed a lot despite the extreme July heat. They’re just “good people” and I’m thrilled I get to document their wedding next spring.

At one point in our time together I asked them what they loved most about each other. Yes, it may sound slightly cheesy but this is something that needs to be heard and communicated among couples. They happily and confidently told each other the answer to my question. It was very heartfelt and I instantly knew how strong their connection was.

Can you see how Jake is Rachel’s protector? Such an amazing feeling to see that kind of love.
Take care you two! I’ll be joining you in cheering on the Huskers this fall!

I met Ali and Scottie and their darling dog Riley for our session downtown earlier this summer. I apologize to them all (especially Riley) for taking so long to blog these images. If I could clone myself or add extra hours in the day I would have a blog that was updated more often! And for everyone else waiting for their blog post, it is coming shortly. It has just been a busy summer wedding season and for that I am grateful!
But back to this adorable couple . . . Ali and Scottie aka “Scottie Toohottie” if you happen to be friends with him on Facebook. They are such a loving, affectionate and fun loving couple. We laughed out loud several times during their session as we explored the streets of downtown looking for nice light. If their wedding day is one quarter of the fun we had during their engagement session their guests are in for a treat!

How fun that they brought Riley for their photos! She was such a well behaved girl and don’t you agree that she’s very photogenic?

A good looking couple + contagious smiles = one happy photographer! The love these two share just makes a person feel happy to be around them. It doesn’t matter that I asked them to lay down on the dirty pavement, they make it all look good.
Thanks for sharing a fun evening with me Ali and Scottie! Your great sense of style added so much to this session. Love the outfits! The one thing that never goes out of style though is the happiness shining through the smiles on your faces.
Looking forward to seeing you again and laughing out loud together in June 2012!

Hayley and Andrew . . . their personalities are amazing. I’ve known Hayley as a friend of a friend but am so glad I get to work with her more closely now. The first time we met to discuss her wedding she gave me a big hug and that proved we’d be sure to get along well. She is vivacious, funny and beautiful all at the same time. And Andrew compliments her so well with his slightly quiet, protective nature.
I knew their engagement session would be a good time spent laughing and I wasn’t wrong. We had some evil mosquitoes to contend with but with some bug spray we handled it. Hayley even emailed me after the fact to say thank you and to say “I have to tell you what Andrew said when we left… that was so cool, I can’t wait to see them. This wasn’t anything like church! hahaha I had to laugh about that. What a good sport even with the mosquitoes”.

Our evening outdoor session gave us some great images and I’m happy that Hayley and Andrew chose to incorporate them into a guest sign-in book for their wedding day. Designing it was a good time and I know they’ll love it when they receive it this week.
June will be here before we know it and I hope that we have a beautiful day with weather like this one minus the annoying insects. Take care Hayley and Andrew! Thank you for being so wonderful and fun to work with.
